Historical Traditions Day
Every Fall the town of Huntersville, West Virginia hosts demonstrations of cultural arts that have slowly disappeared through the decades; wool spinning, chair caning, quilting, blacksmithing, apple butter making, ice cream churning, cheese making, and more.

Visit Huntersville Historical Sites
Civil War Cemetery
Very early on in the war, when this place was still part of the state of Virginia, several Southern soldiers died, mostly of fever (probably typhoid) and were buried on this secluded hill.
Huntersville Jail
The stone and brick jailhouse was built in 1882 and served as the county jail until the county seat moved from Huntersville to Marlinton in 1891. The Historical Society has owned and maintained the structure since 1984.
Presbyterian Church
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this historic Presbyterian church in Huntersville, West Virginia was constructed in 1854. It’s third story bell tower was added in 1896.
Old Huntersville School
Around the year 1841 an academy was established to address the educational needs of Huntersville and the surrounding area. In 1880 a two room, two story schoolhouse was built near the site of academy.
